Born in Karachi, Pakistan, Sheema Khan is a distinguished visual artist renowned for her mastery in miniature painting, ceramic art, and captivating performance pieces. With a deep academic foundation, Sheema holds a Master's degree in History and a Bachelor's degree from the Visual Studies department at Karachi University in 2005, where she excelled with a distinction in Miniature Painting and Ceramic arts. Her works have been showcased in prestigious exhibitions across Dubai, Singapore, Iran, Switzerland, the UK, Canada, and the USA, captivating audiences with their unique blend of tradition and contemporary expression. Sheema was honored with the Faiz Ahmed Faiz Award in 2011, a testament to her outstanding contribution to the art world.
Sheema's achievements include winning the 2nd prize from the Mansoor Zuberi Foundation in 2018, and the Aman Ki Asha Award in 2011 as part of the celebration of Faiz Ahmed Faiz's centenary by Nukta Art. She also received a Scholarship Award from VM Art Gallery in 2006 and a Gold Medal from PECHS Girls College in 2000.
Professionally, Sheema has been teaching at Karachi University's Department of Visual Studies since 2007, contributing to the education and mentorship of aspiring artists. She has also been teaching at the Textile Institute of Pakistan since 2023 and previously taught at Karachi School of Arts from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, she taught drawing at Indus University in Karachi from 2018 to 2019.
